Memorial Plaque on the Rubelles Memorial of War Dead (48.560680, 2.679788 Rue de la Faïencerie)
In hommage to the American soldier of the 7th Armored Division fallen 26 August 1944 during combat for the Liberation
48th Armored Infantry Battalion 2nd Lt. Michael M. Conte age 24
In recognition of his sacrifice for the French people and for Liberty

Ceremonies were held 26 August 2017 to dedicate the memorial.

The red-haired man is Mr. Alexander J. Gould of the US Embassy in Paris.
The woman with the the tricolor (red, white and blue) sash is Miss Françoise Lefevre, Mayor of Rubelles.
The man in uniform with the white cap is Col. Jean Claude Tavernier, head of the Souvenir Français Committee.
In the re-enactor group photo, standing 3rd from left is Damien André who is working on the monument at St Leu-Cesson.
